Sandra
Hi, I am Sandra. If you had told me a few years ago that I’d become a yoga teacher as a non sporty or spiritual person I’d have laughed, but yoga has helped me on a journey of deep healing. When I lost myself, yoga was my contsant companion in finding my way back to myself and feeling deeply again. It was the beginning of my still-ongoing journey to my authentic self. Yoga helps me to connect with my body on a deeper, energetic level and to find calm within me – to still the monkey mind and allow me simply to be in the present moment. I believe that balance is key in everything, so my vinyasa classes are a harmonious mixture of flowing with your breath, dynamic movement and easing into your body. My yin yoga classes allow you to be fully present, experience body and mind in stillness and are a space to be calm in this fast-paced world. I am Yoga Alliance RYT-500 yoga teacher with 75h of continuing education in yin yoga. After complering my 200-h certification in 2021 in Germany, I’ve continued my education with a 300-h training at Wellness Connection in Cape Town in Yin training in Bali.

My yoga journey started in 2006 with Iyengar classes with Françoise Dradin who also made me discover the shat kriyas – purification techniques that are highly effective for digestive problems, stress and insomnia. In 2013 I had my first vinyasa class with Isabelle Thill and I was immediately fascinated by its energizing and soothing effects. In 2016, I graduated La Source’s 300-hour teacher training program and at the request of my colleagues at the office, I gave my first yoga classes. In 2019 I quitted my job to become a full time yoga teacher. But first of all I am and will always remain a yoga student. Beside my regular practice at Ashtanga Yoga Luxembourg, I feel so thankful to be able to go back to the teachers that I admire and that inspire me: Linda and Gerald from Ashtanga Yoga Paris, Gregor Maehle and Monica Gauci, David Swenson, Petri Räisänen or Ty Landrum. My wish is to be able to share the knowledge acquired and continue to explore that vast world called yoga.

My yoga journey began more than 10 years ago when I was simply looking for more serenity in my life. Working in a stressful job in fast-paced corporate environment, I often found myself for a sense of balance and tranquility. Over the years, yoga has exceeded my initial expectations, as it really guided me on a transformative journey to an inner peace, that has enabled me to embrace the ebb and flow of life with equanimity and to overcome obstacles . I’m a Yoga Alliance Certified RYS-200 Teacher from France. My classes are designed for all levels, without the aim of achieving perfect poses, but to fostering a connection to the inner self and restoring balance with mind, body and soul. As a teacher, my journey has now come to a full circle – from a seeker of serenity to a giver of peace.

I’m a movement enthusiast who found yoga some years ago. I started trying asanas out of curiosity and, once my practice deepened, I decided I would never let it go. After my 200 hours YTT in Indonesia, I started learning about the breath and neurology. Both of these fields of study are deeply connected and brought my understanding of the human body at another level. And that’s what I want to teach students as well: to get to know how their bodies function and be aware of each movement, of each breath.
If I had to label my class, it would be creative vinyasa. For me, moving is not about doing something perfectly, it’s about a never-ending learning and adapting.
